Frequently Asked Questions
How do I determine what length of
wheelchair ramp I need?
For
portable wheelchair ramps, you can use
6 inches of ramp for every 1 inch of rise.
ADA standards require 12 inches
of ramp for every 1 inch of rise for
permanent ramps. Please remember
that the longer the ramp, the easier it is
to
go up and down the ramp.
I have lawn and garden equipment, which
ramp do I need?
For a regular full size pickup (tailgate
height about 34") you can use the
7 1/2
foot arched ramps. Keep in mind the
weight of your tractor with you sitting on
it.
For 4 x 4 pickup trucks that sit a little
higher you can use a set of 9 or 10 foot ramps.
For trucks higher than that you will need
at least a set of 12 foot ramps.
I have a 6 foot bed, will the ramps fit
in the truck?
If you purchase the
motorcycle folding ramps,
you can get up to a 10 foot long ramp
and they will fold down and fit in your truck bed.
Why is there an arch in the ramps?
The arch is built into the ramp to keep
you from bottoming out at the topof the ramp when loading garden equipment.
Not all ramps have arches. If you
have really low clearance on your
vehicle and are only going up onto a
trailer, you should use the straight
ramps so the car doesn't hit when going
into the trailer.
Do you carry straight, bi-fold or
tri-fold ramps?
Yes we do. Check out our
ATV page
for a sample of these ramps.
I have an ATV and garden equipment,
which ramp do you suggest?
The arched lawn and garden ramps and
motorcycle ramps (sets of 2) work great on both the
garden equipment and the ATV's.
How do I determine the length for walk
ramps on moving vans?
Measure the height of the van. If it
is up to 48 inches high you will need at
least a 12 foot ramp. If it is up to
52 inches high then you will need at least
a 14 foot ramp. Then determine how
much weight you need to hold.
These ramps can be seen on the commercial
page.
Which ramp will work best for my
motorcycle?
We put all of our suggestions for loading
a motorcycle on the
motorcycle page.
If you do not see what you
need there, feel free to call us.

I have a trailer 16-18 inches high,
what do I use?
The 5 foot trailer ramps are designed for
your trailer. However, if you have a
really low car that you are
loading onto the trailer, you may need a
longer ramp.
If I give you the specs for my
application can you tell me what I need?
Absolutely! Just have the
measurements ready and we will give you
our suggestions about what will work.
The measurements that we need are:
1. Height of trailer, truck, etc that the ramp
will sit on.
2. Weight of what you are loading with you
included if you will be riding it in or
on it. If you load many cars or trucks,
give us the heaviest thing you will load.
3. If you are loading a car, give us the
length of the car from front to back axle.
4. The lowest point of the vehicle from
the ground and where that low point is.
5. The overall length of the vehicle.
Sometimes we can suggest immediately and
other times we must calculate what you
need and get back to you.
I am still not sure and have more
